About the print

Description

In 1957, Jayne Mansfield, an American actress and model known for her publicity stunts, attended a dinner in Beverly Hills at the exclusive Romanoff's restaurant hosted by Paramount Pictures to officially welcome Italian actress Sophia Loren to Hollywood. A photograph of the two women, with Loren casting a sideways glance at Mansfield's cleavage, was distributed world-wide and became an international sensation.

In November 2014, Loren described the dinner and incident in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

"All of cinema was there, it was incredible. And then in comes Jayne Mansfield, the last one to come. For me, that was when it got amazing. She came right for my table. She knew everyone was watching. She sat down. And now, she was barely… Listen. Look at the picture. Where are my eyes? I’m staring at her nipples because I am afraid they are about to come onto my plate. In my face you can see the fear. I’m so frightened that everything in her dress is going to blow—BOOM!—and spill all over the table."

PRINTING AND FRAMING

Print:
we use museum-quality 260GSM Lustre Paper combined with fade-resistant archival inks. Lustre Paper is a high-quality semi-gloss photo paper that balances the best qualities of gloss and matte finishes.
This means the print colours are very vibrant but with-out the reflective glare of a full Gloss Print. This paper is perfect art reproduction and in particular photographic prints.

Frame:
we use 30mm gallery quality Wood Frames with a flat (non-bevelled) profile which frames the artwork with a clean modern aesthetic. This style of frame also works well with a Mat Board which we use on all of our Framed Prints.

Our Prints are Mounted to the Backing Board: we directly mount all of our prints to the backing board which ensures the prints remain flat and smooth over time. Prints that are not mounted to the backing board will become wavy, and buckled over time.

Mat Board: we use a quality Acid-Free Colourfast White Mat Board which creates a professional, clean boarder around the artwork. This ensures the art-work pops and directs the viewers focus to the image. It also prevents the print from touching the glass which avoids moisture build-up that causes sticking and print deterioration.

Glass:
We use 2mm Scratch Resistant Glass which provides true-to-colour, distortion-free viewing which is easy to maintain as it can be cleaned using regular glass cleaners with-out the worry of scratches.

Back of the Frame

Backing Board: we use an acid-free foam Backing Board which prevents the prints yellowing over time and ensures the print remains in excellent condition. It also resists Moisture and Mold keeping the art-work safe in humid conditions.

Wire Hang-wire: distributes the weight evenly across the frame reducing the risk of damage or warping in addition to providing flexibility by allowing for repositioning of the frame after hanging with-out having to make new holes in the wall.

Customised Framing

Black or White frames are standard however custom colored frames are available. Contact support@roguesgallery.co.nz for information on custom sizes and colors.
