About the print

Description

In November 1993, Kurt Cobain turned up to his last ever formal photo shoot three hours late, out of it and asking for a bucket to throw up into.

During the photo shoot Cobain, who killed himself the following April at age 27, appears both cocky and vulnerable, slouching, cloaked in a oversized fake-fur coat, hat and Jackie O sunglasses.

It's the glasses, which photographer Frohman asked Cobain to remove but he declined, which are perhaps at the core of the compelling photographs.

"The glasses to me have, over the years, become his eyes," Frohman says. "The glasses have turned him into a super-folk-hero, where he becomes sort of larger than life."

Photo taken by Jesse Frohman, August 1993

PrintING and Framing

The images are printed on archival museum-quality 260gsm Lustre paper which is a middle ground between Matte & Gloss so the print colours are vibrant but with less glare.

The paper is perfect for fine art, designed to last for years without losing its original beauty.

Framing is done using high quality 30mm Wood Frames (Black or White) a White Acid Free Mat Board & Glass.

A Wire Hangwire is attached to the back so you all you have to do is choose the position and hang the print.

Customised Framing

We offer Black or White frames as standard however we can also supply different coloured frames if required, The same applies to larger or specific frame sizes. contact us on support@roguesgallery.co.nz for more information on customised framing.
