About the print

Description

The super-iconic cover shot for The Clash's 1979 album London Calling.

This picture, featuring bassist Paul Simonen smashing his bass guitar onstage, was taken from the wings backstage at The Palladium in New York City on September 21, 1979, during their Take The Fifth US Tour.

This image has been described as capturing the very essence of punk rock. "No single action captures the thrill of punk better than the wanton obliteration of the very item that has brought your freedom," quipped writer Richard Godwin in the London Evening Standard in 2010.

In 2002, Q Magazine named this image the best rock 'n' roll photograph of all time, saying "it captures the ultimate rock 'n' roll moment – total loss of control."

PrintING and Framing

The images are printed on archival museum-quality 260gsm Lustre paper which is a middle ground between Matte & Gloss so the print colours are vibrant but with less glare.

The paper is perfect for fine art, designed to last for years without losing its original beauty.

Framing is done using high quality 30mm Wood Frames (Black or White) a White Acid Free Mat Board & Glass.

A Wire Hangwire is attached to the back so you all you have to do is choose the position and hang the print.

Customised Framing

We offer Black or White frames as standard however we can also supply different coloured frames if required, The same applies to larger or specific frame sizes. contact us on support@roguesgallery.co.nz for more information on customised framing.
